Hello, I'm Madeline. I strive to help families and children reconnect, manage stress, and navigate their ever-changing lives so they can fully participate in and enjoy life. Whether you're dealing with relationships, attachment struggles, body image issues, eating disorders, self-esteem challenges, trichotillomania, stress, depression, trauma, pregnancy, postpartum depression, or other complex and life-interfering struggles, I'm here to help. I also have a special focus on military families, grief/loss, post-adoption, post-divorce, and family conflicts. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and Registered Play Therapist, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my practice. I have additional training in eating disorders, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, Theraplay techniques, and sandtray therapy. I work with children as young as age 2 and have a B.S. Degree in Psychology, an M.S. Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and post-master's training in Play Therapy, Eating Disorders, and Trauma. In 2014, I served as Chi Sigma Iota Regional Chair, and in 2018, I was the President-Elect of the North Texas Play Therapy Association. I've also published various books and articles to raise awareness and inspire change in mental health. My approach to therapy is holistic, mindful, and creatively expressive, allowing for growth, empowerment, resiliency, and the creative experience of navigating through strengths. I believe in learning how to communicate and talk 'with each other and not at each other.' Life can be challenging, whether you're dealing with a new baby, struggling with relationships, blended family or post-divorce issues, self-esteem and body image dissatisfaction, loss of a baby, military family transitions, grief, loss, aging, medical conditions, financial stress, single parent worries, or growing up teen worries. Why stay stuck when there are opportunities for change?
