Psychotherapist

I believe in showing up as a real person in the therapy room. Clients often tell me they feel comfortable being fully themselves in our sessions, whether they’re navigating anxiety, faith transitions, self-worth, or the messy in-betweens of being human. My own journey (from growing up in a high-control religious group to finding meaning and freedom in nature and music festivals) has shaped my understanding of how culture and systems impact our stories. I’m passionate about helping people untangle beliefs that no longer serve them, set healthy boundaries, process grief, reduce anxiety, and build more authentic relationships. I have experience working with children, teens, adults, and families in a variety of settings. Outside the therapy room, you’ll usually find me hiking, skiing, traveling, decorating, going to festivals, or planning my next adventure. If you’re looking for a down-to-earth, direct therapist, I’d love to connect.

Getting to know Madison Grant

I believe in showing up as a real person in the therapy room. What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach draws on trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, family systems, attachment-focused work, play and expressive therapies, and genuine human connection. I believe the therapeutic relationship is what matters most.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first few sessions focus on getting to know you, your story, what’s bringing you in, and what you want to feel different in your life. I move at your pace and prioritize building a relationship where you feel safe, understood, and not judged. Feeling comfortable matters. From there, we clarify goals together. Some clients want relief from anxiety or intrusive thoughts. Others want to process trauma, untangle old belief systems, strengthen boundaries, or improve relationships. We’ll identify patterns in thoughts, nervous system responses, attachment dynamics, and coping strategies, and begin shifting them in ways that feel sustainable. My work integrates trauma-informed CBT, EMDR when appropriate, attachment-focused therapy, and parts work. That might look like learning tools to regulate your nervous system, challenging self-critical narratives, reprocessing specific memories, or exploring how past experiences are shaping present relationships. Sessions are collaborative and active, but not overwhelming. Sometimes we focus on insight. Sometimes we build concrete skills. Sometimes we sit with something hard and let it move through. Over time, the goal isn’t just symptom reduction, it’s helping you feel more grounded, more intentional in your responses, and more connected to yourself and others. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. We’ll make sense of it together.
