“Working with Madison has been a really positive experience. She’s thoughtful and a great listener, and she creates a calm space where it feels easy to talk openly. She helps you work through things in a practical way that actually carries over outside of sessions. I’ve often left sessions with more clarity and direction and would recommend her to anyone looking for a grounded, attentive therapist.”

Getting to know Madison Klein

Many of the clients I work with feel overwhelmed, anxious, and constantly hard on themselves. They may struggle with overthinking, people-pleasing, and feeling like they’re never “doing enough,” even when they’re managing a lot. This often shows up in their relationship with food, body image, and self-worth. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, burnout, and eating disorders, including disordered eating patterns and body image concerns. I also support clients in understanding the underlying emotional patterns—such as control, perfectionism, and low self-esteem—so they can build a healthier, more compassionate relationship with themselves. Common concerns clients bring to therapy include: • persistent anxiety and racing thoughts • overthinking and difficulty relaxing • academic or performance pressure • burnout and emotional exhaustion • disordered eating patterns or body image concerns • identity shifts during major life transitions • postpartum anxiety or emotional adjustment after becoming a parent Many clients describe feeling stuck in cycles of perfectionism, self-doubt, or pressure to meet high expectations. Therapy can provide a space to step back from those patterns and begin building a more balanced and sustainable way of living. My therapeutic approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and strengths-focused work. Sessions are collaborative and practical, focusing on both understanding patterns and developing tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and improve confidence. My goal is to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore challenges openly while developing skills that help you move forward with greater clarity and resilience.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Many of the people I work with are used to being highly responsible, motivated, and driven. While those qualities can be strengths, they can also lead to chronic stress, self-criticism, and difficulty feeling satisfied with achievements. Therapy with me focuses on helping clients better understand the pressures they are experiencing while developing practical tools for managing anxiety, improving emotional regulation, and building a healthier relationship with expectations and performance. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Some clients come in with a specific concern such as anxiety, burnout, disordered eating, or postpartum mental health changes. Others simply notice they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from their goals and want a space to sort through what is happening. Clients often seek therapy for concerns such as: • anxiety and constant worry • difficulty managing stress and pressure • burnout from school, work, or athletics • struggles with self-confidence or self-esteem • emotional eating or disordered eating patterns • major life transitions such as starting college, changing careers, or becoming a parent Sessions are designed to be both supportive and practical. In addition to exploring your experiences, we focus on developing skills that can help you feel more grounded, confident, and capable of managing the challenges you are facing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is an opportunity for us to understand what is bringing you to therapy and what you hope might feel different in your life. We discuss current stressors, past experiences, and the patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, burnout, or emotional distress. This initial conversation helps us identify goals and develop a treatment approach that fits your needs. Some clients want to focus on reducing anxiety and learning coping skills, while others want support navigating a major life transition or addressing long-standing patterns of self-criticism or perfectionism. In ongoing sessions we may focus on: • identifying patterns in thinking and behavior that contribute to anxiety or stress • developing strategies to manage overthinking and emotional overwhelm • building coping skills to handle pressure from school, work, or athletics • improving self-confidence and self-awareness • strengthening emotional resilience and stress management Therapy is collaborative and flexible. Some sessions focus on practical strategies and skill-building, while others provide space to process experiences and gain insight into underlying patterns. The goal is steady progress toward feeling more balanced, confident, and able to navigate challenges with greater clarity and self-trust.
