Getting to know Madison Klein

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you’re used to holding everything together on your own. My goal is to make that step feel more manageable and less overwhelming. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in cycles of overthinking and self-doubt. They often describe being high-functioning on the outside, while internally feeling stressed, emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to slow their thoughts down. A common experience is feeling like they need to be “on” all the time—managing responsibilities, meeting expectations, and taking care of others—while struggling to feel grounded, calm, or satisfied themselves. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, and patterns of perfectionism or low self-esteem. I also support individuals navigating emotional overwhelm, identity shifts, and difficulty managing daily pressure. Many clients come to therapy feeling stuck in cycles of overthinking, people-pleasing, self-criticism, or feeling like they are not enough, even when they are doing their best and accomplishing a lot. Therapy can be a space to slow these patterns down, understand where they come from, and begin creating a more balanced and supportive relationship with yourself. My approach is collaborative and integrative, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and strengths-focused work. I tailor treatment to your needs, combining practical tools with deeper insight work to help you manage stress, regulate emotions, and shift unhelpful patterns. My goal is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel understood, gain clarity, and build more stability, confidence, and ease in your daily life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Many of the clients I work with are responsible, thoughtful, and used to pushing themselves to meet high expectations. While these traits can be strengths, they often come with chronic stress, self-criticism, and difficulty feeling at ease or “good enough.” In therapy, we focus on understanding the patterns that keep you feeling stuck—such as overthinking, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty setting boundaries—and building practical tools to respond to them differently. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Some clients come in with specific concerns like anxiety, burnout, or relationship stress. Others simply feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck and want support making sense of what they’re experiencing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is focused on understanding what brings you to therapy and what you hope to feel differently in your life. We explore current stressors, relevant background, and the emotional or behavioral patterns that may be contributing to your experience. From there, we collaborate on goals and identify what type of support will be most helpful. Some clients focus on reducing anxiety and building coping skills, while others explore deeper patterns related to self-worth, relationships, or long-standing stress responses. In ongoing sessions, we may work on identifying unhelpful thought patterns, managing anxiety and emotional overwhelm, improving coping strategies, strengthening self-awareness, and building resilience in daily life. Sessions are flexible and tailored to your needs. Some are more structured and skills-based, while others focus on processing experiences and gaining insight. The overall goal is to help you feel more grounded, self-aware, and able to navigate life with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional stability.

Working with Madison has been a really positive experience. She’s thoughtful and a great listener, and she creates a calm space where it feels easy to talk openly. She helps you work through things in a practical way that actually carries over outside of sessions. Madison made me feel very comfortable and able to really open up and express my feelings. Her communication skills were excellent and the way she articulated her advice and feedback helped drag me out of a dark place that I could not see a way out of before talking to her. If I could recommend anyone it would be Madison, she's almost single handedly helped cure my depression.
