What should a new client know about working with you?

I view counseling as a collaborative and relational process that blends individualized treatment with evidence-based approaches to support the client’s needs and goals. I take into consideration the uniqueness of each client, and factor into our work how a client’s thoughts, behaviors, emotions, physical, and spiritual dimensions holistically impact their mental wellbeing. I also consider how race, class, gender, sexuality, and other social systems intersect to shape a client’s lived experience. As a counselor it is my job to meet you where you are and diligently create the conditions of trust and safety in our relationship so you can courageously share whatever you’re feeling troubled by in your life, and to explore the patterns that are no longer serving you. As a supportive co-traveler on your journey, I will work to make our therapeutic environment a space where you feel seen, respected, valued and understood. If you bring the expertise in your own life with your truth and stories, I will bring the therapeutic tools. Together we’ll do the deep work to help you access your internal wisdom that will expand your self-understanding, compassion, and empowerment so new healing pathways can emerge.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer free consultations with all potential clients so we may explore if we would be a good fit to work together. All therapy sessions begin with completing clinical intakes and goal setting that will help to steer our process in future sessions.
