Hello! I'm glad you're here. I am Maia Yamasaki, Owner & Founder of Groundswell Wellness. I am a licensed therapist in Oregon, with 20 years of experience helping people of all ages recognize their own internal strengths in order to achieve the happiness, peace and potential that we all deserve in a kind, direct and thoughtful way. As a counselor, I operate from a humanistic point of view; acknowledging the benefit of self-acceptance and the importance of free-will as paramount. I will see the good and powerful in you, and help you see it too. No matter the circumstances of your journey, my goal, through a multi-modal approach, is to assist you in achieving your best personal outcome possible in a non-biased and dignified way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a client, you can expect that I will be compassionate, strengths- based and direct. Together, we will work as a team to identify your therapeutic and life goals. I often use humor in my practice and you can expect to smile as well as obtain honest feedback in each session.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process for working with clients is offering a 15 minute free phone consultation prior to scheduling an intake session so that we may each ensure that we are a therapeutic match. During our first scheduled session, we will identify your goals, areas of concern and psychiatric/mental health history. From there, we will develop a plan together to help you attain your optimal life experience.
