I am a licensed therapist with extensive experience supporting adults through anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, and complex relational stressors. My work is informed by decades of clinical experience and a deep respect for each person’s story, resilience, and capacity for growth. I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely understood, not judged, and supported in ways that are both emotionally attuned and clinically sound.

Getting to know Maigan Oliver

I am a licensed therapist with extensive experience supporting adults through anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, and complex relational stressors. I offer a grounded, thoughtful, and compassionate space where clients can explore what’s weighing on them while also building practical skills for change. My work is informed by decades of clinical experience and a deep respect for each person’s story, resilience, and capacity for growth. I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely understood, not judged, and supported in ways that are both emotionally attuned and clinically sound.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as warm, direct, and collaborative. I take a client-centered approach, meeting you where you are while helping you gently challenge unhelpful patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with insight-oriented and trauma-informed care. I value honesty, curiosity, and real conversation in therapy. Sessions are not scripted or rigid; instead, they are responsive to what you bring in each week. I aim to help clients feel more grounded, confident, and capable—whether that means learning to regulate emotions, set healthier boundaries, reduce overthinking, or navigate grief and major life stressors. Therapy with me is both supportive and purposeful.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

n our initial sessions, I focus on understanding your concerns, history, and goals, while also helping you feel comfortable and safe in the therapeutic space. We’ll talk about what prompted you to seek therapy now and what you’d like to be different in your life. From there, we work collaboratively to identify patterns, develop coping strategies, and create realistic goals that align with your needs and values. A typical session may include exploring current stressors, examining thought patterns, practicing emotional regulation strategies, and reflecting on progress over time. I also incorporate psychoeducation when helpful and encourage practical tools you can use outside of sessions. Therapy is an active process, but it moves at a pace that feels respectful and manageable. My goal is to help you build insight, confidence, and lasting skills that support your well-being beyond the therapy space.
