I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from Governors State University. My career started in community mental health residential treatment and recovery settings providing assessment, counseling, supervision, and clinical leadership. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, sexual maladaptive behaviors, sexual abuse, neglect, OCD, ODD, PTSD, and ADHD. I have also worked with many individuals who have experienced trauma, neglect, and abuse. My scope of work has focused on helping individuals to manage life challenges. In addressing these challenges, I have worked with clients to overcome adjustment, life transitions, relationship, domestic violence, adoption, and LGBTQIA+ issues, anger management, school transition/stabilization, substance use, mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. I am committed to treating every client with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and compassion. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treatment models. I am also trained to utilize Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, ARC (Attachment, Regulation and Competency), and other evidence-based treatment modalities. When working with clients, my approach is client-centered, solution-focused, and strength-based. I will provide guidance to help you identify roadblocks and strategies to overcome them.
