Makayla Hill, LMHC

Psychotherapist
RI
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 16 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, and hospital settings, as well as group living environments. My goal is to help people live with more intention and less out of habit by focusing on creating meaningful, balanced, and fulfilling lives. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, addiction, OCD, autism, and grief. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Rhode Island College. My approach is person-centered and integrative, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy, and psychoeducation to help clients gain insight, develop coping skills, and promote long-term healing and growth. As a biracial woman who has faced personal trauma and loss, I’ve transformed my pain, anger, and grief into resilience, learning that broken crayons still color, reclaiming my power as the author of my own story, and using that strength to help others build healing and coping skills of their own. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all. My focus is to help you understand your thoughts, beliefs, and patterns while building on your unique strengths. Together, we’ll explore new perspectives, reduce triggers, and cultivate self-awareness. You’ve already taken the first step toward healing—let’s build the life you deserve.
