My name is Maleka Qureshi. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Illinois Institute of Technology. I have specialized training and extensive experience working with adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services and speak English, Urdu, Hindi, and Gujarati.
With over 10 years of experience, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families, primarily focusing on young adults and adults with dual diagnoses of mental illness and substance-related and addictive disorders. I have provided therapy to individuals and support to their families. Additionally, I have experience helping clients manage phobias, stress and anxiety, anger control issues, low self-esteem, family conflicts, and couple/relationship challenges.
I am passionate about helping others achieve greater fulfillment and balance in their lives. My approach combines various psychotherapy and counseling techniques to help you uncover and release negative thoughts and past patterns, enabling you to focus on the present and work toward your future goals. I believe my clients know themselves best and are their own-and my-greatest resource in treatment. I view therapy as a collaborative process where our knowledge and skills come together to create effective solutions.
