Psychotherapist

I offer a safe space to explore the human experience together. Let's invite healthy ways of coping and introduce a new way of operating in this world so that our lives and the lives of those around us can prosper. I specialize in grief and loss. It has been my experience that while not every life has been touched by abuse or addiction, every life has experienced loss-whether it's the loss of a job, health, freedom, or even the future you once envisioned. These symbolic losses often don't receive the attention and processing they deserve. Together, we can update your sense of identity to reflect this new reality. Couples and communication are also areas of focus within my practice. Let's explore why we feel stuck, resentful, and un-nourished by our relationships. My approach I tend to work with a Narrative approach, especially with grief and loss. Solution-focused therapy feels appropriate for life transitions, stress, anxiety, and some family or relationship issues. With couples, I take a more analytical approach, as I believe it's essential for each partner to fully understand why the other operates the way they do. This insight fosters greater empathy, admiration, and fondness within the relationship. When we see our partner's pain and act to remedy it, we nourish the relationship instead of feeling attacked, becoming defensive, or turning away. My focus I primarily work with adults and couples. My communication style I strive to be as considerate as possible and provide a safe place to express all feelings and insecurities. However, I can also be very direct and to the point. Our purpose is to break old habits that keep us feeling stuck and no longer serve our health and healing. My journey to mental healthcare I have learned many lessons the hard way. I hold a Master's in Counseling from National University, which has deepened my understanding and ability to support others through their challenges.
