Hi, I'm Malika! Have you ever felt like you were wearing a mask around everyone else? That you are truly the one exception to the rule that everyone is deserving of love? That you are actually the one person in this world who must be perfect, the funniest, the most attractive? Or that there's just something "off" inside you or within your life? I work collaboratively with my clients to help them increase their self-worth, strengthen their relationships, and develop an awareness of their emotional responses by exploring the deeper "roots" behind our protective parts of self. I believe that through exploring deeply held beliefs about oneself and the world, and accepting all parts of self, people can achieve growth and change. Together, we will use a whole-self approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body, and spirit to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. Therapy can be an uncomfortable and challenging process; however, it is truly a rewarding journey toward self-acceptance. As isolating as it can feel, you are not alone in these experiences. Change is possible, and I would be honored to be a part of your journey toward embracing the traits and characteristics that make you uniquely you. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree from West Chester University, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you on this path.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I always give people a heads up that in my initial session with clients I ask a lot of questions because I'm interested in getting to know about you, your struggles, your relationships, your habits, and your goals. However, I also encourage all clients to know it is okay to not answer any question they are not comfortable with answering yet - I always have more questions to ask! I know it will take time for me to earn each person's trust and I know opening up to a stranger is not an easy task and can be overwhelming. I respect each client's boundaries and unique process to feeling like therapy is a safe space for them to connect, process and heal.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
