Getting to know Mamie Routhier

Hi, I am Mamie Routhier. I graduated from Michigan State University with my Master's in Social Work in 1994. I have 30 years of experience working with kids, teens, adults, and families facing a wide range of concerns. I have many years of experience working with trauma, including sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, and complex trauma. In addition, I have experience with depression, anxiety, overcoming poverty, discrimination, autism, and foster care and adoption. My experience includes supporting parents with foster/adoptive children, children with autism, and children with mental health, health, and/or behavioral problems, including serious mental health concerns. My approach is very eclectic but is mostly humanistic and sometimes cognitive and/or behavioral. I see my role as supporting people in whatever direction life takes them or helping them over the bumps in life, even the big bumps. I tend to use a direct and pragmatic approach. My style is very interactive, sensitive, and compassionate. I will accept a sliding scale fee. I look forward to working with you.
