Mammie Chavira, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Mammie! Hola! My name is Mammie Ruth Chavira, and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University. For me, therapy is a place where you can be yourself, free of judgment, and most importantly, connect and feel understood through whatever struggles you may be facing. My approach I believe in giving my clients the autonomy to identify their challenges and prioritize their own goals. I approach therapy with a client-centered lens, always focusing on creating a safe and supportive space for my clients. My focus I have found my experience and passion lie in working with teenagers and adults who may be struggling with life transitions, societal challenges, and/or trauma. These challenges often come with stress, depression, and anxiety. It is an honor to work closely with someone to navigate the underlying causes of these symptoms and to learn ways to cope with such difficulties. My communication style My communication style is warm and encouraging. Creating a safe space and an accommodating environment in sessions is always my priority. My journey to mental healthcare For the past 14 years, I have worked with at-risk youth and their families dealing with abuse, adversity, and complex trauma. This clinical experience inspired me to further my education and continue showing up for those in need. This is truly my passion. My goals for you I encourage my clients to identify their own goals, and together we find ways to cope and manage. My initial and ongoing goal is to build trust and connect with my clients.
