If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, panic, or emotional stress — or noticing patterns from the past repeating in your relationships — you’re not alone. For many people, unresolved trauma, depression, or anger can quietly shape their thoughts, behavior, and connection to others. These patterns can also affect how they see themselves — leading to self-doubt, low self-esteem, or a sense of never quite being good enough. I’m Manuel Olvera, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I specialize in helping adults work through anxiety, trauma (including childhood and complex trauma), depression, low self-worth, and relationship issues so they can feel more in control and at peace. I also welcome working with clients navigating ADHD-related challenges, especially when they intersect with emotional regulation, identity, or past trauma. In therapy, I aim to listen more than I talk. I offer guidance and explain psychological concepts when they’re helpful, but my main focus is creating space for you to express yourself and process what you're feeling. I ask thoughtful questions to help you explore your emotions, physical sensations, and experiences more deeply — and I follow your lead. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, and elements of CBT to support healing in both the mind and body. I also help clients explore how past wounds may be affecting current relationships. For couples, I use the Gottman Method and often work with each partner individually in addition to joint sessions — especially when personal trauma is showing up in the relationship dynamic. Whether you’re seeking relief from anxiety, struggling with anger, shutdown, or self-doubt — or feeling disconnected from yourself or the people around you — therapy can help. You don’t have to have all the answers. If you’re ready to start, I’d be honored to work with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I think my best strength is helping people feel safe enough to express themselves openly and honestly. I have several years of experience. I have studied a lot and taken a lot of extra trainings to build a thorough understanding of mental health and therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first appointment we will discuss what challenges you are facing and what has made you decide to come to therapy. We will talk about your history. We will also talk about your goals. This will help us build better understanding and give us direction for future appointments.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
