Hi there, I'm Mara! My name is Mara Owens, LPC, and I am a person-centered counselor who will work with you to find the approach that best helps you find your peace and self-possession. I hold a Master's in Psychology from Southern Oregon University, which has deepened my understanding of mental health and therapeutic techniques. My approach I use aspects of ACT, DBT, and CBT, as well as Motivational Interviewing to support you on your mental health path. My focus I am deeply invested in working with those coping with Anxiety, Depression, OCD, and trans-affirming care. I also have a deep understanding of grief work. My communication style I'm always going to take your lead, and I won't use a therapist's voice. I promise. My journey to mental healthcare I became a counselor to help others by using lived experience and a deep investment in giving people the person they need to walk along the path to wellness. My goals for you We will 100% focus on the things you are struggling with, and we can set goals based on your desired outcomes. My first session with you In our first session, we will talk about your concerns in this moment as well as the ways you'd like to approach change.
