Hi there, I'm Marah! I'm Marah Pense, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma who works with clients online via telehealth. I hold a Master’s in Counseling from Oral Roberts University. Over the past 12 years, I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and adults from various cultures and stages of life. I recognize that in some of the most vulnerable and challenging states, clients need someone who will listen, provide a safe space, and guide them through the process. My approach I use methods and techniques that best meet my client’s needs. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy to walk clients through life’s challenges to a place of peace and more control. I focus on helping clients identify and understand thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to take back control and better manage their lives. My focus I have counseling experience with clients of all ages. I have worked with children and teens for years, focusing on skills-building, managing emotions, and communication. I help younger adults through life transitions in college, relationships, and careers. My specialties include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and parenting. My communication style I seek to set a safe and calm environment that allows clients to freely process and express themselves. I include opportunities for play, artistic expression, and storytelling when clients are interested. My goal is for each client to feel counseling is their place to be themselves without hesitation or fear. My journey to mental healthcare I discovered counseling in graduate school. Learning about the reasons behind the way I think, feel, and behave made me feel seen and known. Understanding myself and how my brain and personality work changed my life. I have always loved listening to people’s stories and providing a safe space for them to feel. I want others to experience hope, freedom, and help through counseling as I have.
