Getting to know Marc Davis

Whether a fear of failure and rejection, difficulty relating with associates and loved ones, or any other life stressor, it takes a tremendous amount of strength and courage to seek help. I would like to congratulate you on taking that first step towards overcoming those challenges and realizing your goals! I have seen what a desire for real, lasting change can achieve in my years working with individuals both in crisis centers answering the suicide hotline and in mental health clinics helping them in vivo. With that drive, together we can discover whatever barriers may be holding you back in life and break through them. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from City University of New York, Queens College, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you on this journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I mainly specialize in helping adolescents and adults struggling with anxious and depressed feelings, including those with thoughts of suicide. Through compassion, humor, and evidence-based practices, I assist my clients in identifying and gaining mastery over distressful beliefs and feelings, so that they can become the person they envision for themselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I specialize in treating emotional troubles of all kinds, including those related to suicide. I am among the relatively few clinicians with expertise in treating suicidal thoughts and behaviors. The majority of my clients find their symptoms to be manageable or completely relieved within 3-6 months, with results persisting even after a 6-month follow-up and beyond.
