Getting to know Marc Wax

Hi, I’m Moshe Wax. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly ten years of experience supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University in 2018 and currently practice privately. My primary areas of focus include parenting counseling, stress management, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and attachment-related trauma. I create a supportive, collaborative environment where clients feel heard and empowered to make meaningful change. I value both insight and skill-building in therapy. Along with exploring self-understanding, I often use guided meditations, affirmations, therapeutic writing exercises, and psychoeducation. My goal is to help clients leave sessions with clarity and practical strategies they can apply in daily life. Outside of work, I enjoy music, nature, exercising, and time with friends and family—and I never say no to a good hot latte.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Moshe Wax is a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly a decade of experience helping individuals manage emotional challenges, unhelpful patterns of thinking, and difficult life transitions. He works primarily with older adolescents, adults, and seniors, and has extensive experience in individual therapy, group facilitation, and peer supervision. Moshe has a particular passion for supporting parents who are struggling with communication, parenting stress, and strained relationships with their children. His approach is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative, emphasizing insight, growth, and practical change. He values curiosity and creativity in therapy and is committed to ongoing personal and professional development.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is focused on gaining a clear understanding of your current concerns, relevant personal and family background, strengths, and previous coping strategies. We will also clarify what you would like to change or improve, and collaborate on establishing specific, realistic treatment goals tailored to your needs. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—therapy is a space to slow down and begin exactly where you are. As our work continues, I believe progress happens through small, steady steps rather than quick fixes. Growth takes time, and ups and downs are a natural part of the process. I pay close attention to your strengths and emerging progress, helping you notice changes as they occur so they can become more stable and lasting over time.

Great visit overall. Very helpful and personalizes visit. well organized, and expertly crafted guidance that adhere to addressing my personal growth and growth as a father and partner!
For years, I have been turned off from therapy, but I initiated my sessions with Marc and explained this and why I wanted to start. Since starting, the weight has been lifted off my shoulders. He is extremely patient and understanding with me and is very knowledgable about topics and issues. It feels fun, not forced.
I’ve had a really positive experience with Marc and would say he’s one of the best therapists I’ve worked with so far. I appreciate his clinical approach and how he often incorporates exercises into our sessions to help address what I’m feeling in the moment. This has been especially helpful during heavier sessions, as it helps me process and work through difficult emotions instead of leaving them unresolved. He’s very knowledgeable, and I really like his techniques. With past therapists, I mostly did the talking, but Marc provides thoughtful feedback and recommendations (books, helpful videos), along with session notes that highlight breakthroughs along the way. This has been incredibly helpful in understanding and processing what I bring into each session. Overall, I feel supported, guided, and more grounded after our sessions.
My sessions have been amazing, and working with Moshe has let me develop skills to handle the stress in my life and be more mindful of things around me. We have been taking time to discuss difficult times at work and skills to handle them . Ive noticed im more confident and better equipped since starting my therapy.
I have been patient of Moshe Wax for around 3 years. He's a very easy going down to earth person. He? Is also very flexible. As i've had trouble keeping a consistent schedule due to the holidays. I also enjoy the way we approached therapy. As someone who has a lot of trauma. I followed him from another practice and it still proves to have been the best decision I made for my mental health. When I was done with our sessions I had a sense of calm and understanding. A goal in mind to work towards for or next session. After I left I relapse it was hard but I reached out. Moshe got back to me within the hour and helped me. I owe alot to this man because after all of this looking back I'm confused why I never started sooner. Don't let something a mile down the road scare you from taking that first step.
