Getting to know Marcey Wilder
Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I received my Masters from the Walden University and have been practicing since 2021 both in residential treatment facilities focused on helping youth ages 11 to 18 and outpatient clients dealing with challenges due to Autism, familial conflict, depression, anxiety, and other struggles. I work with and am trained in treating Military Members, currently active, veterans and Military Families to navigate Military life, returning to civilian life and traumas associated with service. I collaborate with children, adolescents, young adults and adults to create a treatment plan setting attainable goals. I have evening appointments to accommodate those individuals or families if that works better for you. If you need other times than I have listed available, please reach out to me. I can try and accommodate and meet you and / or your family when convenient.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I enjoy working with youth, adolescents, young adults and adults working toward clarity and navigating the many aspects of mental health. My clients are looking to improve their life and mental health; however, they may yet have the tools, or perspective, needed to make this goal a reality. I work with first responders to provide a safe environment eliminating the stigma of mental illness looking toward mental health. I also provide a safe space for those who struggle with attachment, whether you are struggling with insecure avoidant or resistant, I will work with you to identify the struggle. As a mental health therapist, I work with individuals experiencing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, and stress management issues. Client population includes adults from diverse backgrounds facing life transitions, career challenges, or personal setbacks, seeking support to develop coping skills, and enhance their overall wellbeing. I work with individuals navigating specific concerns like grief, as well as medical issues causing behavioral responses due to TBI or mTBI. I tailor my approach to meet client's unique needs and goals within a supportive, safe, and collaborative therapeutic environment. I am part of a team with my client at the helm.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I take a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy, working with clients to develop individualized treatment plans with realistic, attainable goals. I believe therapy should be a partnership, and I tailor my approach based on each client’s unique needs, strengths, and experiences. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices and focuses on building coping skills, improving communication, increasing self-awareness, and fostering long-term emotional well-being.
