Most of the time, at best, life can be a rollercoaster ride. Even when you’re in control, something will suddenly change, and that ride gets a little crazier than you expected. It’s easy to just lower your shoulder and power through, but sometimes even that isn’t enough. Reaching out for help can be one of the most courageous things you will ever do. Now a bit about me, my experience, and clinical focus. I earned my Doctor of Psychology in Marital and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego, in 2008. I also hold a Master of Arts degree in Human Behavior from National University in San Diego. At Widener University Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, I earned a Military and Veteran Behavioral Health Certification. For nine years I worked in Community Mental Health followed by supporting active-duty military and their families. Next, I transitioned to working with Native youth in a residential setting. I currently work with active-duty service members, spouses, and families. I believe in short term Solution Focused Brief Therapy which creates collaboration rather than instruction. I strongly believe that we each possess the ability to resolve whatever we may face. Sometimes it’s about figuring out what the issue really is and then figuring out how things will be different when the issue is resolved, that’s the Miracle Question. Often times, you have the answer, but you just need someone who will listen, support, and guide while you work your way to it. I'd like to see if I can be the person who provides that support and guidance.
