Getting to know Marcus Lusk

Hello, I'm Marcus, a professional licensed counselor with over 10 years of experience as a mental health therapist in Georgia. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, depression, trauma, intrusive thoughts, physical and sexual abuse, parenting issues, relationship problems, various addictions (drugs, alcohol, pornography, etc.), self-harming behaviors, suicide attempts and ideations, and oppositional defiance disorder, among others. My counseling style is rooted in compassion and empathy, yet I am direct and challenging when necessary. I believe in taking a non-judgmental stance on all issues, working collaboratively with you to meet your goals. My preferred therapeutic model is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and I am also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). My aim is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can grow and thrive. I understand that reaching out for help can be daunting, and I commend you for taking this step to explore your options. Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and my role is to guide and support you through this process. Whether you're dealing with addiction, ADHD, adolescent and teen mental health issues, anger management, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, life transitions, military or veteran support, phobias, PTSD, sleep disorders, spirituality, stress, suicidal ideation, trauma, narcissistic personality disorder, sex and intimacy issues, or family relationships, I am here to help. I want you to know that therapy is a collaborative effort, and together we can work towards achieving your personal goals. Please find the courage to reach out to me or another therapist who resonates with you. I look forward to starting this journey with you!
