Facing life's challenges with a support person makes everything easier. I specialize in working with adults who are working through past trauma, depression, or anxiety. I take a mindfulness-based approach to help retrain your brain. Additionally, I use Internal Family Systems theory to heal all of your "parts" for lasting change. I provide a warm and comforting environment without any judgment. When you are ready, I am here waiting to help you find your new way of living. I use Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and CBT to help you manage daily stressors, emotions that seem overwhelming, and thoughts that are intrusive. Healing past trauma and creating lasting change is important to feeling empowered. I approach trauma with the use of healing the inner child and IFS. You will learn to listen to all of your "parts" and find balance in every situation. Because I am a Certified Gottman Couples Counselor, I can also help you understand the issues couples face and teach you better communication skills. Incorporating all of these methods in therapy helps heal the whole person. If you are trying to let go of the past, manage today's stress, and stop worrying about tomorrow, I can help. We will work together to identify what symptoms cause the most difficulty for you. One by one, we will work our way through your distressing thoughts and feelings until you feel empowered and complete.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I practice active listening and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences with you as an empathetic partner. If we’re working through something challenging, you can expect me to be calm and patient. I became fascinated with the functions of the brain and how our bodies react to stressors early in life. I know how hard it is to manage powerful emotions, especially when faced with current life stressors. I knew when I was a teenager that I wanted to help others learn to be empowered and heal trauma. My true passion is helping others find their own path to healing and walking with them along their journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Together, we will set your treatment goals and your life goals. I believe in allowing the client to pace the experience of therapy and provide me with direction on what matters to you. I'll provide you with interventions and direction on how to apply the interventions. We will practice together until you feel comfortable tackling life's challenges independently. In our first session, you will have an opportunity to express yourself in a safe environment and share what matters to you. We will work together to prioritize what you want to work toward. I will help you organize your thoughts and goals so we can develop treatment goals for your personal situation.
