Psychotherapist
OR
Hi, I'm so happy you're here! My name is Maggie and I am a Colorado based licensed clinical social worker seeing clients in Oregon via telehealth. I work with adults (18+) and families navigating life and relationship issues, anxiety, and depression with a main focus on approaching each client through a trauma informed lens. Taking the first step to contact a therapist can feel intimidating and sometimes conflicting. Please feel more than welcome to reach out to see if we would be a good match! My approach I mainly use solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches to identify thought patterns and behaviors that may be inhibiting personal and relational progress. I believe that the client therapist relationship is the most influential component in therapy; with equal effort from each side we can work to identify challenges and focus on a path forward. My focus I work with adults (18+) and families struggling with life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. My goal is to meet you where you are and work collaboratively to move through whatever it is that brought you to therapy by focusing on your strengths and identifying a plan that feels comfortable. My communication style I value clear, honest, and open communication both in session and out of session in order to build trust and a supportive therapeutic environment. I practice active listening while cultivating a calm environment in order to ensure a level of comfort for you to guide your own process throughout therapy. My first session with you During our first session together, we will mainly focus on getting to know one another while discussing what brought you to therapy and any previous experience with it. The therapeutic relationship between you and I will be ongoing however, the groundwork is laid in that initial session. I'm here to help you start that process in a low-stakes first session.
