Psychotherapist
400 Carnation Dr, Waxahachie, TX
I work with people of all ages who face a variety of issues and concerns. The following are examples of challenges I address regularly. Individual Adult Therapy Many people experience strong feelings like sadness, anxiety, anger, or despair and don’t fully understand their causes. Throughout our lives, we receive feedback from family, teachers, clergy, friends, bosses, and sometimes total strangers. Negative and defeating thoughts can also stem from trauma, learning disabilities, and early failures, to name a few. This feedback often comes in the form of statements about ourselves that may or may not be true. However, we internalize these negative words and unconsciously repeat them until they become beliefs about ourselves. I have helped many people overcome negative cognitions by developing positive thoughts that aid in managing strong, hurtful feelings that can lead to unproductive behaviors and outcomes in all areas of life. By working together to resolve trauma and other painful experiences, you will find that you can succeed in almost anything you work hard to accomplish. You can develop a strong can-do attitude and feel more relaxed, energetic, and happy. My practice welcomes LGBTQIA clients. I also work with people navigating life transitions and relationship issues, including senior adults. Individual Therapy for Children and Teens Some believe children are resilient and bounce back from any stress. There is some truth to this, but children often carry the hurt they experience throughout their lives. Over time, that hurt can cause negative thoughts, creating a personal script that interferes with life successes. Children and youth may disguise trauma by hiding their inner thoughts from parents, teachers, and caregivers, making it seem as though all is well. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University-Commerce, which informs my compassionate and effective approach to therapy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
