“Maggie and the staff at NYCPC are incredible. I was quickly matched to a practitioner after I submitted my inquiry, we had a casual chat to make sure we got along, and my meetings with her since have been incredible. Getting to know Margaret (Maggie) Mccarthy

Feeling lost lately? Maybe you're coming home from work every day drained, going through a breakup and unsure of what you want next, or dreading whatever tomorrow might bring. Whatever it is, you just don’t feel like yourself – and maybe you’ve never had the space, or safety, to discover who that person is. If that feels like you, know that you're not alone in wanting more. I work with folks who are ready to reconnect with themselves and get to know all of their different parts and stories to find alignment, purpose, and fulfillment. My goal is to help you create a life that feels meaningful on your terms. Together, we can help you see yourself from a new perspective, heal, & learn skills to get you centered. We’ll create a space where growth feels safe but stretches you. I want you to feel comfortable being your true self, so that’s how I show up too, with openness, humor & humility. Our world imposes expectations on who you can be and how you live. In our space, you get to show up exactly as you are and do the work you want to do. It’s an honor for me to work alongside you to help you create lasting change, build self-confidence, and develop compassion for yourself. If you're ready to take that next step together, reach out!

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to provide a safe place to explore your past experiences and challenges together, foster resilience, and help you develop a healthier relationship with yourself. Using a mix of therapeutic techniques, we'll work to understand and have compassion for yourself, develop key coping and grounding skills, improve communication, and gain clarity on your values and dreams.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work collaboratively with my clients to ensure you are leading in your healing journey; you know yourself and your needs best. I like to utilize themes from IFS parts work CBT therapy to build compassion and understanding for all the pieces of you, and to learn skills to handle challenging situations and emotions, creating space for you to breathe, heal, and accept yourself exactly as you are.
