Getting to know Margaret (Meg) Verstraete

*Note that prior to the first session with the provider, LifeStance will require a credit card on file. The light often shines brightest in the darkness. As a licensed professional counselor, Meg Verstraete has over 18 years of experience walking with her clients through their darkest moments. She has celebrated with them in some of their highest triumphs as well, helping them overcome and make peace with issues such as fear, anxiety, trauma, learning disabilities, divorce and high-conflict co-parenting matters, addictions and recovery, eating disorders, grief, and depression. Ms. Verstraete holds a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University. Her expansive and diverse education and certifications enable her to provide clients with education, motivation, self-awareness, coping skills, self-regulation, and behavior modification strategies that address life’s challenges. In walking alongside her clients, she encourages hope for healing and moving forward from situational and often long-endured pain. With several years of experience in educational and group settings focused on learning disorders, behavior, and de-escalation intervention skills, Ms. Verstraete offers strategies to assist clients living with social skill and learning challenges often present on the autism spectrum. She helps clients recognize that through self-awareness in conflicts and difficulties, growth is possible. Although she has addressed a vast range of issues as a therapist, Ms. Verstraete’s message to her clients is one of encouragement and hope. Even when dealing with pain and conflict, life’s chaos and the scars of trauma can often transcend and transform each client’s life into a healing and truly unique story of growth—one meant to lead to a better quality of living.
