It's difficult to predict how you'll feel from one moment to the next. A second ago, you were keyed up; every muscle in your body tense and on high alert, ready for danger to strike. Now, you're completely checked out, numb to the world, sleepwalking through the day. You know this isn't a sustainable way to live, but you're not sure how else to cope with the painful wounds of your past. It's as though you can no longer trust yourself to differentiate between safe and threatening situations, so you avoid everything. You're struggling at work and growing more distant from your loved ones each day. Something needs to change, and soon. Let's create a plan to get you where you want to be. Using a combination of EMDR, ACT, IFS, mindfulness, and somatic-based tools, we'll recalibrate your nervous system. Together, we'll process the pain of your past so that you can heal your current relationships and embrace your future. It's time to rediscover the joy, confidence, and purpose in your life. Free yourself from past traumas. Forge deeper connections in your relationships with others and yourself. Show yourself the compassion and understanding that you deserve. Learn to establish guilt-free boundaries at work and home. Become empowered to be your truest self. Hi, I'm Maggie Reynolds. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of San Diego. I help professional women recovering from trauma and going through difficult life transitions regain confidence and clarity to navigate life and find joy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Within 24 hours of scheduling a session with me, I will reach out to you to have a FREE 15-minute phone consultation. This allows you a chance to tell me what you are dealing with, ask me any questions, and make sure that you feel we are a good fit. Our sessions will provide you with the space to focus on yourself without feeling selfish. In a safe and comfortable environment, you'll be able to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals and be understood and heard. It's important to me to hold space and be affirming so you can be yourself. I aim to adhere to best practices for ethically and multiculturally-informed Counseling. I welcome clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds, gender and sexual identities and expressions, abilities, neurodiversities, and faiths. Despite their differences, my clients share a common desire to work for change in their lives, and in the course of therapy with me, are able to better tap into their inner creativity, resiliency, and hopes. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to Counseling. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Before we meet for our Intake Session, we start with a free 15-20 minute consultation call to talk about what brings you to therapy, share a bit about how I can help, answer any questions you may have, and discuss pricing and scheduling to make sure we both feel we are a good fit to take the next step. The next step is to set up an intake appointment and send you a link to fill out the paperwork to get started. During the intake appointment, you can tell me more with me about yourself and what you have struggled with. We will talk about your goals and what the therapeutic journey might look like. Most importantly, you and I will get to know each other better and start to build the safety and trust that will be necessary for you to heal and grow.

More information on payments and coverage

Statement on Insurance I work with you, not the insurance companies. In my practice, I have chosen to only accept up-front, out-of-pocket payment for my services. This allows me to concentrate on offering you quality treatment and continuing to grow as a therapist and person. Many insurance companies do reimburse members a certain percentage for appointments with out-of-network (OON) providers. If you are interested, you can inquire with your insurance about your OON coverage, and I can provide you with something called a "Superbill" to help you get reimbursement. I have set my rates based on the quality of treatment and experience I provide, consistency with the market rate for therapy, and my personal and professional plans to make a positive impact for my clients, my family, and my community in a way that is emotionally and financially sustainable. If you have concerns about financial limitations to getting therapy, I am happy to talk about options, such as group therapy or referrals for other therapists.
