Getting to know Margaret Rose

I am a licensed clinical social worker with 25+ years of experience in the field. I enjoy helping people identify their strengths and harness them to live their best lives possible. My practice focus is broad with emphasis on mood disorders, grief, death and dying, alcohol use disorders, and overcoming life's challenges. My approach I utilize an eclectic mix of theoretical approaches to therapy and rely upon my clinical wisdom to guide me. I have been trained to utilize multiple different therapies, but in the end, I typically use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). My focus Most of my clients are adults adjusting to life changes. I have worked with people of all ages dealing with a variety of mental health issues. My communication style My tone/environment is relaxed and comfortable. I think this gives my clients a sense of peace and puts them at ease working with me. My journey to mental healthcare I went to graduate school because I wanted to work in hospice care. After graduation, I was accepted into a psychiatric fellowship at Yale where I discovered my true calling. I continue to do this work because it connects me with lots of different people and gives me the opportunity to help them. My goals for you I collaborate with my clients on goal setting and try to help them realize that they are progressing at their own pace. My first session with you Besides the questions required for paperwork, the first session with me is dedicated to identifying the problem and collaborating on solutions. I want to know and understand my clients so I usually ask lots of questions and create a genogram to understand their family and where they are within the family.
