I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience supporting teens, young adults, older adults, and families through some of life’s most difficult moments. I specialize in grief and loss, medical trauma, chronic illness, spirituality, and the emotional challenges that can accompany major life transitions. For several years, I worked in a cancer hospital providing psychological support to patients and their families as they navigated serious illness, uncertainty, loss, and life-changing circumstances. I earned my Master of Science in Social Work from UT Austin’s Steve Hicks School of Social Work, with a focus on clinical practice and healthcare. I strive to create a warm, authentic space where you can explore your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and discover meaning within your story. I am also conversational in Spanish.

Getting to know Margaret Vincent

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is warm, curious, and collaborative. I believe therapy should be a place where you can speak honestly about what you are experiencing and feel heard without judgment. Together, we can explore the different layers of meaning your experiences hold for you, including your relationships, values, spirituality, identity, and life circumstances. I embrace meaning-making, creativity, and honest conversation, helping you recognize the strengths already present in your story while finding new ways to move toward healing, growth, and connection.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin by getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and learning what you hope to gain from our work together. You do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. We can start with what feels most important to you. As we work together, we will explore your experiences, identify patterns and challenges, clarify your values and goals, and build on your existing strengths. I tailor therapy to each person rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. My goal is to create a space where reflection can unfold naturally and where you feel supported as we work toward meaningful and lasting change.
