Margarita Medina, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi! My name is Margarita Yuri Medina, Ph.D. (c), LPC-S. I hold a Master’s in Psychology from the University of West Georgia. My approach is humanistic, specifically existential phenomenological—once described to me as “Person-Centered on steroids.” I also incorporate techniques from CBT, DBT, ACT, Play Therapy, and Art Therapy, which are foundational in counseling and psychology schools. I work with clients across a wide age range, from children as young as 5 to mature adults. My focus areas include mood disorders, ADHD, relationship issues, adjustment disorders, anger management, parenting, abuse, and trauma. Clients who work with me usually want to see meaningful change in their lives or in their children’s lives. In therapy, my client is the driver—I provide support, guidance, and tools to help them reach their goals. The client decides what they want to see differently, and I assist in making those goals concrete and identifying the steps to take. I decided to become a therapist when I was 19 years old, and this has been my only career. My main motivator has always been to foster and maintain a healthy family. Our first session will be about getting to know you and discussing what brought you to therapy. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward positive change.
