Margeaux Groene is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She brings a wealth of experience and passion to her work with adolescents and adults seeking help with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), and substance use disorders. Originally from Tidewater Virginia, Margeaux graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication. She then earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, completing her counseling internship with a focus on the effective use of telehealth treatment with the adolescent population.
Margeaux is skilled in the treatment of substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and co-occurring disorders such as (but not limited to) depression and trauma. From her previous positions with Synergy Counseling LLC, Caron Treatment Center’s Northern Virginia location, and most recently New Paradigm Recovery, Margeaux has years of experience working in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings specializing in the treatment of co-occurring substance use disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder. Margeaux’s passion for working with clients suffering from unresolved trauma and clinically treatable PTSD prompted her to obtain training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) through the EMDRIA-approved Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy in January 2022.
Through a collaborative and supportive relationship, Margeaux enjoys empowering clients to find relief and freedom from symptoms while addressing underlying triggers, fears, and maladaptive patterns. She is excited to continue serving diverse populations of adolescents and adults using an evidenced-based, multidisciplinary approach.

I have been through many therapists until I found the right one. Margeaux is not only kind but truly authentic and intelligent. She is fantastic at breaking things down and giving the science and research behind it.
