Getting to know Maria Cevallos

I am a bilingual LCSW with over 10 years of experience working with diverse family systems in various settings. I apply an integrative approach in my treatment, addressing clients across the lifespan with a wide range of therapeutic needs. Currently, I treat individuals and family systems dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, emotional dysregulation, mood disorders, and many other diagnoses. While my practice is currently online, I anticipate expanding to in-person services soon. I grew up in Los Angeles, CA, completed my Master of Social Work at Fordham University in the Bronx, NY, and now reside in Ocala, FL. With more than 10 years in Human Services?about half focused on mental health and behavior?I have lived in several communities across the United States. This experience has deepened my understanding of how environment influences client needs and growth opportunities. Clients who choose to work with me benefit from my integrative approach. I believe everyone's experiences are unique, which is why I meet clients where they are in their life journey and empower them to find solutions and coping skills tailored to their needs. I am dedicated to the ongoing pursuit of knowledge and consider myself a lifelong learner. This commitment supports client autonomy and individualized care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Often clients are conflicted about their perception of their problem. In sessions, clients can learn that they were on the right path, but lack validation, empowerment, and coping skills. When clients learn the power they hold within and learn to manage daily and emotional stressors they can reap the benefits of their work and see the results they have been striving for. During your first session, we begin by considering what you would like to be different. We consider the role of barriers that have prevented that change, as well as expectations in treatment during your therapeutic journey. This foundation allows us to build a strong therapeutic alliance, where you will feel supported and can increase your understanding of your experiences and journey into therapy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
