Getting to know Maria Davis

I am originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela. I obtained my license as a Professional Counselor from Houston Baptist University, my master's in education from Saint Thomas University, and my bachelor’s degree in arts from La Universidad del Zulia, Venezuela. I own my private practice, MC Davis Counseling Services, LLC My clinical experience includes counseling young adolescents with Asperger, adults, seniors with mental disorders, and families. I have expertise in the areas of depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma. I am a school counselor, and I work as PRN in a hospital with seniors. I have worked with all ages and population with diverse diagnosis alongside psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, community support professionals, and other counselors. I have worked with agencies where I have the opportunity to do home visits I offer my services as a telehealth therapist, but I can do face to face sessions previously scheduled. I used an eclectic style during my sessions. I have also done CBT, goal centered, Solution Focus, and DBT. I have been trained in CPR-AED Basic Life Support, SAMA, and CPI, among others. I am a member of the American School Counseling Associations (ASCA), (Houston Counseling Association (HCA), and Houston Licensed Professional Counselor (HLPC). I have worked 25 years for the educational system, 24 of them as an elementary educator.
