Getting to know Maria Dias

Maria is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has been providing psychotherapy services since 2005. Maria initially earned her Bachelor degree in Liberal Arts from Rutgers University, double majoring in Psychology and Social Work. Following, she completed a Masters degree in Social Work from New York University. Since then, Maria has continued her education by staying up to date with different therapeutic skills and modalities. Part of her continuing training include post graduate psychoanalytic training, hypnotherapy, and specialized training in the treatment of trauma, Panic and Anxiety. With an appreciation for both the ways in which as human beings we have so much in common, yet we are also very unique, Maria believes in the importance to get to know each person, instead of boxing the individual into a theory. As a result, Maria practices using an eclectic approach, with the main focus on providing each person a safe place to discuss and explore hopes, fears, wishes, set goals and work towards them at each individual’s pace, within a safe, non-judgmental space.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After you request your appointment, you will be sent an invite link for Brightside Health. You will need to enter your insurance and payment information to confirm your appointment.During your initial consultation we will craft a treatment plan personalized to your needs, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed. You will also be able message me directly at anytime via the messaging section of your Brightside Health portal - a tool where will also track your progress, access resources, and see your treatment plan details.
