Maria Dsouza, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Welcome! Life is a journey, and sometimes we just feel stuck. We encounter stress from work, relationships, children, and school, and we're not always sure what will help. I can teach you tools to navigate life's stressors so they don't feel so overwhelming. I hold an MEd in Counseling from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota. I have worked as an educator, school counselor, and with adults facing substance abuse and mental illness, supporting people from many backgrounds and ages. I am LGBTQ+ affirming. I believe therapy should be individualized to each client's needs. I use a variety of approaches to facilitate change, including cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems. I strive to be nonjudgmental, with a warm yet direct approach. I focus on identifying and correcting negative or harmful thought patterns to help you make positive changes in your life. We all face challenges that can be difficult to cope with, and you don't have to face them alone. Choose to invest in yourself, and let me help you start living your fullest potential.
