Psychotherapist
TX
Hello, I'm Maria. Life is a journey, and sometimes we just feel stuck. We encounter stress with work, relationships, children, school, and we're not sure what will help. I can teach you tools to help navigate through life's stressors so it doesn't feel overwhelming. I believe therapy is a safe and trusted relationship that can help you identify the changes that will allow you to grow emotionally and spiritually. Therapy should be individualized for each client's needs. I use a variety of approaches to facilitate change, including cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered, and solution-focused techniques. I strive to be non-judgmental, with a warm yet direct approach. My focus is on correcting negative or harmful thought patterns to help you make positive changes in your life. I have a diverse background, having worked as an educator, school counselor, and adult substance abuse counselor. My experience spans various backgrounds and ages, and I am LGBTQ+ supportive. I specialize in helping with addiction, anger management, anxiety, children's and adolescent mental/behavioral health, depression, family relationships, grief/bereavement, life transitions, multicultural/diversity issues, intimate/romantic relationships, spirituality, stress, ADHD, bipolar disorder, medical issues/physical health, military/veteran support, PTSD, learning disorders, and trauma. We all face challenges in our lives that are difficult to cope with, and you do not have to face them alone. Choose to invest in yourself and let me help you start living out your fullest potential. I am currently accepting clients for virtual therapy only. Let's work together to create a path forward that feels right for you.
