Getting to know Dr. Maria Hernandez

I work with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, stress, life transitions, loneliness, and challenges related to identity or culture. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or like they're constantly trying to keep up with life's demands. Together, we build greater self-understanding, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop practical tools to manage challenges, improve relationships, and create a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and authentic. I help clients better understand themselves, navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, and life's challenges with greater confidence. My approach is collaborative, warm, practical, and tailored to your unique needs, combining evidence-based strategies with a supportive, culturally responsive approach. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and finding the right therapist isn't always easy. My hope is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, exploring what you're going through, and working together toward meaningful, lasting change. I'd be honored to be part of that process.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use an evidence-based, collaborative approach tailored to each client's needs. My work primarily integrates CBT, ACT, DBT-informed skills, and mindfulness to help clients better understand themselves, manage difficult emotions, build healthier patterns, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first few sessions focus on getting to know you, meaning your experiences, strengths, values, and what brings you to therapy. Together we'll identify meaningful goals and create a treatment plan that fits your needs. As therapy progresses, we'll combine insight with practical strategies to help you better manage difficult emotions, navigate relationships, improve confidence, and build a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
