Getting to know Maria Lever
I’m so glad you’re here. Caring for a loved one, living with serious illness, or coping with profound loss can feel overwhelming and sometimes, deeply isolating. You don’t have to face it alone. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in palliative care, grief, and caregiving support. I provide guidance and support to individuals and families as they journey through the emotional complexities of chronic and advanced illness, anticipatory grief, end-of-life, major losses, caregiver support and significant life transitions.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My approach is grounded in compassion, dignity, and respect. I believe in creating a supportive space where your story is heard, your values are honored, and your unique needs guide our work together. Whether you're grappling with uncertainty, caregiving stress, or the pain of loss, my role is to walk alongside you with empathy and clinical expertise.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My comprehensive background includes postgraduate training in bereavement, end-of-life counseling, & palliative care, deepened by a Social Work Leadership Fellowship in Palliative & End-of-Life Care at NYU. We'll use our first session to understand your needs and how I can support you.
Scheduling and billing are done through Headway for all non Medicare patients. All new patients will receive a welcome email within 24 hours of booking.
