Getting to know Maria Meidanis

Maria puts a new spin on therapeutic services by integrating a holistic, spiritual, and individualized approach to treatment. She is passionate about helping her clients access and strengthen their intuition, limit anxiety, depression, and stress, hone their internal intelligence, and use more of their potential to overcome challenges related to addiction, trauma, eating disorders, and relationships. Through brain-resetting—changing the beliefs that inhibit the desired outcome—Maria assists her clients in transforming reactionary patterns that influence their experience of reality, turning limiting patterns into empowering ones. She may also integrate yoga into her therapy as a means to enhance the mind-body connection. Maria holds a Master’s in Counseling from Suffolk University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Maria is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts. Maria earned her Master's Degree (MS) in Counseling as well her Certificate after Graduate study (CAGS) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Suffolk University. Maria gained clinical experience through Judge Baker's Children's Center, Mass. General Hospital's Psychiatry Department, MCI-Framingham Prison, Riverside Community Care, and Bay State Community Services. She has pursued training in modalities that emphasize mind-body connection, including pursuing her Reiki Mastership and Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) Certification. She has additional training in Y-CBT (Yoga-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Motivational Interviewing specific to Addiction, Eating disorders, Trauma and relational conflict. Maria is also a certified yoga teacher (RYT). She is one of seven co-authors of a scientific poster presentation Parental Self-reflection in Adolescence Predicts Adolescent Offspring Self-Reflection. License #11067.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My name is Maria Meidanis. I am the founder and owner of Still Motion Therapeutic Services LLC. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master. If only I knew then what I know now about the mind-body connection; the integration of breathe, the power of intuition and the transformation that comes with stillness. I know what it feels like to want to crawl out of my own skin, to look in the rear-view mirror and to rush through miscellaneous tasks without real purpose. I am talking about the difference between living and existing. The difference between doing and being. You are not alone —- but you can’t do this by yourself because if you could, you would have by now. I want to help you work through the resistance and fear that is detracting you from being your best self and preventing you from reaching your highest potential. I am here to assist you in overcoming past hurts relative to impulsive addictive behaviors, trauma, eating disorders and relational conflict— to hone into your internal intelligence and create dynamic change. Begin again. Join me in going ‘beyond the couch’ (AKA traditional talk therapy). I invite you to embark on the journey of self transformation.

After seeing Maria I felt like such a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I instantly felt heard validated. It’s rare to find help these days where you feel like you are actually making progress in life but with Maria, I felt lighter when I left her office.
