“It took me a long time to read through bios and select a therapist to start. I was starting to think I was just being too picky and should just choose one so I could begin the deeper work needed. But I’m so glad I held to my convictions and continued to read more bios and see if there was that “perfect fit” and then along came Maria’s.

Getting to know Maria Nowlin
Do you feel overwhelmed with daily tasks? Have you experienced trauma? Are you a mom trying to meet everyone else's needs except your own? I specialize in maternal mental health, including perinatal and postpartum issues as well as trauma/PTSD. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey, and my role is to provide a safe space for you-whether that means problem-solving or taking a more in-depth look at what is going on. I believe in holistic and individualized treatment. I am also a Board Certified Music Therapist and love incorporating creative arts into sessions. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Texas Woman's University, which has equipped me to support you effectively. I can't wait to meet you on your journey toward healing!

You can expect me to be safe, warm, and non-judgemental. I will ask about your whole self (work, social, and spiritual)! I will also provide you with tools for both short term goal and long term goals!

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
