Before obtaining her masters, Maria studied Psychology also from the same Institution. Maria is the newest clinician to join this practice but has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois since 2017. She is passionate about empowering her clients to find balance, resilience, and growth. She specializes in anxiety and depression, mood disorders and relationship counseling. In addition, she uses a wide range of therapeutic techniques, to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. Maria’s approach is to create a safe, non judgmental and collaborative environment where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings and challenges. She truly believes in the power of personal growth and self-awareness. She uses evidence-based techniques to help you navigate difficult emotions, overcome obstacles and build healthier coping mechanisms. She will tailor each session in order to meet your unique needs. Maria has extensive experience in education and has worked with various populations. She holds an educator’s certificate and has counseled in schools in Florida. Maria currently mentors college students and recently attained a certificate in Coaching.
