Getting to know Maria Sands

I obtained my license to practice social work in 1997. My graduate degree as a Master's in Social Work was obtained in 1993. I worked in two internships at Tulane School of Social Work. One was at the Campus Counseling Center and one was at Project Lazarus. That spurred me into a career in Medical Social Work for many years. Later in life, I chose to cross over to Mental Health and have been providing Telehealth Psychotherapy services since 1999. I became a social worker to learn more about how the mind and emotions work together and to help others through their struggles.
