Hello, I'm Maria, and I'm passionate about creating a therapeutic space where you can feel safe, seen, and heard. I believe in the strength of connection and the therapeutic relationship, and my ultimate goal is for you to feel empowered throughout our work together. With experience working with individuals, couples, and families in various clinical settings, I have had the privilege of supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, ages, and socioeconomic statuses. My time as a clinician with the Dallas Independent School District (ISD) allowed me to gain valuable experience working with children as young as 4, adding to my understanding of different developmental stages and challenges. I specialize in helping clients navigate depression, anxiety, adjustment and life changes, and coping with adversity, loss, and grief. My training includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). However, I believe in a collaborative approach and am knowledgeable in a variety of modalities and therapies, ensuring that your treatment is tailored to your unique needs. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and I am committed to finding the best path forward for you. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2019.
