“I completed two sessions with Mariam and I feel confident that she will be a huge help in my life. she is easy to talk to, kind and educates on you everything she plans to do. The times available on Zocdoc was not exactly correct so there was some communication in reschedule but she was very accommodating and easy to work with. I look forward to future sessions with her. I would highly recommended Mariam for your mental health needs!”

Getting to know Mariam Saibu

I am a licensed professional counselor with additional training in depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, career counseling, and ADHD. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Biology and my master's in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Georgia State University. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, state agencies, and private practice settings, serving clients ranging from young children to older adults. I also maintain licenses in trauma, addiction, and vocational counseling. My therapeutic approach combines dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I am passionate about working with women to provide mental health therapy that helps them live a life aligned with their personal values. As a mother, daughter, sister, and wife, I understand what it feels like to be trapped in the cycle of overwhelm. I also know what it's like to manage multiple responsibilities and simply need therapy as an outlet. I am driven to provide every patient who seeks therapy with the support they need to reach their goals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exercising, traveling, and spending time with family.
