Marianne Cook, MSW

Marianne Cook, MSW

Psychotherapist
MD
Through relationships, we find meaning, joy, and purpose in life. However, these same relationships can cause pain, leading to maladaptive coping patterns and behaviors that leave us feeling stuck, numb, and disconnected from our true selves. I provide individual and couples therapy using a collaborative, strength-based approach to help clients create new ways of understanding and coping with life's challenges. I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, and addiction. Depending on the client's circumstances, I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), mindfulness, and solution-focused treatment approaches. I am also well-versed in the 12-step philosophy. Above all, I am committed to providing a warm, non-judgmental space for clients to embark on their healing journey. Before embarking on this rewarding career, I was a classically trained violinist who played professionally in NYC. I earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University in 2008 and am licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York. I am passionate about meditation, nature, and the healing power of a good laugh!
