Getting to know Marie Charles

I am an LCSW with 14 years of experience as a practicing social worker in medical and community settings. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Florida International University. My background includes foster care, child welfare, adoption, the juvenile justice system, medical social work, case management, and individual, family, and couples therapy. I work with diverse populations and backgrounds and have experience supporting children with varying behaviors and mental health diagnoses. Throughout my career, I have actively pursued expanding my knowledge, community resources, and understanding of clinical and medical social work. I have a strong ability to motivate others, advocate for clients and families, provide emotional support and counseling, and manage crises effectively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a safe, nurturing, and neutral space in which to explore their thoughts and feelings. As your therapist, I will offer tools and techniques for navigating your thoughts, feelings, emotions, experiences, and relationships. I will provide support and guidance and assist you in making realistic expectations for yourself. I will gather information as to what your goals are in therapy and what you want to get out of our sessions and process.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
