Getting to know Marie Keefe
I am a passionate individual with a holistic perspective, driven to help people overcome barriers to reach their fullest potential. Through self-exploration, specifically investigating past and current relationships and interactions, we can achieve this.
We all face challenges, often leaving us feeling lost or questioning our purpose in life. These hurdles can lead to depression, anxiety, trauma responses, and feelings of grief and loss. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over eight years of clinical experience, I am dedicated to supporting your healing process by providing a safe space for deep reflection.
I acknowledge that no single approach fits all. Therefore, my therapy strategy involves examining the foundational belief systems that shape our reactions, feelings, and thoughts about our lives. I strive to individualize treatment plans, working closely with each client to establish adaptive goals and suitable therapeutic modalities.
I earned my Master's in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in 2016 and became licensed in 2018. As a first-generation American from a multicultural Haitian family, my upbringing has provided me unique insight into acculturation-related issues. My first experience was in 2015, working with children and families at non-profit agencies, addressing behavioral problems, depression, trauma, and anxiety. I later worked with teenage girls in the juvenile justice system, providing therapeutic support to cope with feelings of anger and shame.
Subsequently, my focus shifted to acute psychiatric facilities, enhancing my understanding of psychiatric disorder development and symptomatology through experiential work. I have also applied my diverse clinical expertise in dual-diagnosis settings, assisting clients in recovery to promote healing and maintain long-term sobriety.
