Getting to know Marie Magloire

I am a Therapist at Wellness Counseling Services, LCSW, PLLC. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Manhattan College and am a limited permit holder of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT-LP). My approach to therapy is both empathetic and attentive. Being systemically trained, I strive to assist my patients in understanding the influences of the world they live in. Over time, I've learned that vulnerability without blame is an effective means to communicate. “How can I be vulnerable without blaming those who hurt me, those who I thought loved me, and those who I feel don't understand me?” To simply put, I invite you to explore your emotions through a collaborative and inclusive environment that will activate change and promote authenticity. I understand the feeling of ineffective, hurtful communication patterns and how easy it is to feel like you are struggling, isolated, and anxious. I employ a combination of insight-oriented and evidence-based approaches, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman's Method for Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to help patients identify their stressors while increasing personal and relational growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once booked, you will receive three emails from Wellness Counseling Services, LCSW, PLLC one through our online platform, SimplePractice inviting you to our client portal. There you will complete all necessary consents for treatment, your demographic information, and your personalized intake questionnaire to initiate the intake process. Please complete and submit all necessary documentation at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time to allow the clinician to review your reasons for entering into therapy at this time and to complete your two initial intake sessions the first time that you meet. You will also recieve an email from our Administrative Team with our Welcome Letter Attached as well as a introductory email from your chosen therapist at our practice. Please try to complete all documents and information before your initial session with our clinicians. Should you have any trouble doing so, you may log on to your booked appointment through the SimplePractice Portal or give the mainline a call and the therapist will help you through the initial process. The two sequential appointments after will then be used to completed your intake assessment. We look forward to working with you!
