Getting to know Marie Sumski

Are life's ups and downs causing stress? Are you having difficulty navigating the difficult waters of relationships, family, or work? Do you want to learn how to be your own compass? Life can be difficult. Learning skills and techniques to help manage life's stressors can make a difference. We all carry emotional backpacks that hold the weight of our hurts, stressors, and other emotional upheavals. If we don't take the time to sort through the backpack regularly, it can become heavy and weigh us down. Mastering Self Recovery can provide you with the toolkit needed to sort through your backpack and manage all that life throws at you. Utilizing techniques from DBT, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, I will work with you to find what works best for you to become your own Master of Recovery. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Norfolk State University and am committed to supporting you on this journey. If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a team, you can expect that we will work together to find solutions to problems you are facing. We explore what is currently working well and find what is not working well for you so that you may live a life that is more fulfilling and focused on what you are looking to achieve.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
