Getting to know Marielle Miller

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New York practicing out of Midtown Manhattan with training from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. I am affiliated with Bellevue Hospital working in an outpatient treatment program specializing in treatment with a range of clientele including children, adolescents and adults. In my practice, I specialize in working with clients presenting with depression, anxiety, trauma, life changes, gender and identity issues, relationship issues, OCD and job related pressures.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, incorporating principles from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and acceptance & commitment therapy in efforts to gain a deeper understanding of your unique needs. Whether that is learning new ways of thinking, processing complex feelings, increasing insight around triggers or learning healthier ways to cope with every day stressors, I strive to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and build a more fulfilling life.

Marielle sees my 13 year old daughter for weekly therapy and my daughter felt comfortable opening up to her right away. My daughter says she leaves every session feeling lighter and I can tell a difference in how she acts and communicates with us. I think it helps her open up more to us too. I even see my daughter using new coping skills she says she learns in session. I’m so thankful for Marielle’s help!

We were seeking services for our son who was having difficulty with behavior and his mood, and began to have problems at school. I was really impressed with the knowledge Ms. Fisher had regarding ways to help him, as well as other services that were helpful for us as parents and recommendations for school.
